1 Verbs + prepositions in Wh- questions

With a verb + preposition, we keep the preposition after the verb in Wh- questions.

2 Relative clauses
Read the examples, then complete the explanation.
I’ve got a friend who/that lives on a boat.
He’s the man who/that owns the pizzeria.
A ‘dotcom’ is a company that/which sells things on the internet.
This is an insect that/which exists only in Britain.
Check that you can use relative pronouns to describe people and things. Match 1–6 with a–f and make sentences using the relative pronoun.
3 one/ones
A Look at the pictures and read the two dialogues. What do one and ones refer to?
Boy: I know those girls.
Girl: Which ones?
Boy: The ones at the front of the queue. The one with blonde hair is in my class.
Boy: I’d like three pens – a red one and two green ones.
Woman: The red one is €2 and the green ones are €1.20 each.

4 Subject and object questions
A Look at the picture and match questions 1 and 2 with answers a and b.
