4 PRESENTATION 
What happened?

A Two students are doing the questionnaire and talking about their experiences. Listen and follow the dialogue. How do you think the boy felt when the lift started again?

A: Have you ever walked across a gorge?
B: Yes, I have. It was last August, when we went hiking in Switzerland.
A: Were you scared?
B: Yes, I was. I was very relieved when I got to the other side. What about you? Have you had any scary experiences?
A: I got stuck in a lift once. I think that was the worst experience I’ve ever had!
B: How awful! What happened?
A: We live in a block of flats and I was in the lift, going up to the fourth floor, when suddenly it stopped. At first I didn’t know what to do, then I pressed the alarm button. But I had to wait about ten minutes until it started again.
B: What a horrible experience!

Work with a partner. Choose an experience from the questionnaire, or think of another experience. Write a short conversation like the one in Exercise 4. It doesn’t have to be true!

Read your conversation to the class, who must guess if your story is true or not.

A: Have you ever climbed a mountain?
B: Yes, I have.
A: Where was that?
B: We went to Tanzania last year and we climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. It was hard but it was the most amazing experience I’ve ever had.
