A visit to my country

If you visit the UK, you’ll need

  • an umbrella, because in many parts of the country it rains quite a lot.
  • a dictionary, because the British aren’t very good at foreign languages.
  • a guide book, because there are some fabulous places to visit.

If you’re on holiday in the UK,

  • try some fish and chips from a good fish and chip shop.
  • go to the Eden Project in Cornwall.
  • go on a boat trip on the River Thames.
  • sit in Hyde Park in London and watch the world go by.

When you’re in this country, you must remember

  • to say ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you’. The British are very polite!
  • to stand in a queue. The British queue for everything.
  • to talk about the weather. The British think it’s really interesting. They also like talking about sport, famous people, holidays, food, and their friends and families.

My favourite place in the UK is the Lake District, in northwest England. It’s a great place for hiking.
