The Taj Mahal
A Read about the Taj Mahal and find answers to these questions.
The Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It’s in Agra, on the River Yamuna in India. In 1631 Mumtaz Mahal, the wife of the Emperor Shah Jahan, died. The emperor built the Taj Mahal in memory of his wife. He used 20,000 workers and 1,000 elephants! The work started in 1631 and finished in 1653. Today 2 million people visit the Taj Mahal every year.
