Verbs of perception
We use the present simple with verbs of perception (look, taste, sound, smell) to talk about something that is true now. We don’t use the present continuous.

✗ His new jacket is looking terrible!
We use look, taste, sound, smell + adjective,
NOT look, taste, sound, smell + like + adjective.
[latex]\color{limegreen}{\checkmark}[/latex] This pizza tastes awful!
✗ This pizza tastes like awful!
