say vs. tell
Learners often confuse say and tell when reporting speech.
We tell someone (something).
[latex]\color{limegreen}{\checkmark}[/latex] I told her I was coming to Italy.
✗ I said her I was coming to Italy.
We say something (to someone).
[latex]\color{limegreen}{\checkmark}[/latex] I said I would go this Summer.
✗ I told I would go this Summer.
